The Airbus EC130 B4 is a single-engine light utility helicopter developed by Eurocopter and later inherited by Airbus Helicopters. First delivered in 2001, this aircraft is a member of the Eurocopter EC130 family, now referred to as the Airbus H130. Powered by a Turbomeca Arriel 2D turbine engine, the Airbus EC130 B4 is equipped with a full authority digital engine control (FADEC) system with an automatic back-up channel. It also has a vehicle and engine management display (VEMD) to reduce pilot workload and simplify flying, as well as an Active Vibration Control System, advanced environmental control, and backup hydraulics. Thanks to its Fenestron shrouded tail rotor and automatic variable rotor speed control, the EC130 B4 is the quietest helicopter in its category with a noise signature 6 dB below ICAO limits.
